Stock Blog Archive - RockingStocks.com Wednesday, December 17 4:40 PM: M, Macy's, one of our stock picks from yesterday, closed up $1.54 to $10.01 today. M closed up 18%+ today and has been up 22%+ since we picked it early yesterday. M has a book value of $23.55 and once it broke through its 50-day moving average today it took off big time! M is not overbought yet and has room to move even higher. Gold climbed again today and went over $880 an ounce for a moment. The NASDAQ traded in a very tight range today and closed about 5 points below its 50-day moving average. We believe we will see the NASDAQ break through, possibly tomorrow. Looking forward, oil isn't weighing on the market, now at around $40.50 a barrel. Interest rates are as low as 0%, the lowest point ever. As we are seeing with some stocks, they are breaking through their 50-day, we believe it is time for the NASDAQ exchange to break through next! Tuesday, December 16 8:30 PM: We released two new stock picks early today. Both stocks were up today and we expect to see them continue higher. The Federal Reserve cut rates today to zero. This should have a great stimulating effect on the economy and lessen the pressure on homeowners and those with debt. However, this cut will bring negatives as well, such as inflation and weakening of the dollar. Gold jumped to $850+ an ounce today on the Fed's announcment as the dollar slid. We believe we will see gold go to $900 then $1,000 an ounce. Once, gold is above $1,000 we could see gold mania when everyone in the media begins talking about it. This would have the effect of driving gold even higher. On a separate note, the NASDAQ closed up 81.55 to 1,589.89 today, slightly above its 50-day moving average. We believe we could see the market get its "Santa Claus" rally the next few days. Thursday, December 4 7:30 PM: Stock Updates posted for today. Wednesday, December 3 12:01 AM: We posted three new stock picks: NSU, EMKR and DNN. If you have not done so already, take the simple step to sign up for our Stock Newsletter. Friday, November 28 2:30 PM: We will be releasing a new play later today for next week! We believe this play could be even bigger than our RAD play last week that moved 67%+ in four trading days! Wednesday, November 26 6:50 PM: Our stock pick from last Sunday, RAD (Rite Aid), closed up big again today, up $0.06 to $0.47. RAD traded up big everyday of this week so far since we discovered it at $0.31, three trading days ago! RAD is now up 51%+ since we first discovered it! Thursday, November 20 11:20 AM: The NASDAQ reached a low of 1,345.57 around 10:20 AM today. The NASDAQ is now up 3.79 to 1390.21. The NASDAQ exchange chart is also indicating a possible reversal today. Friday, November 14 3:45 PM: Some of the bigger movers today are biotech and healthcare stocks, like yesterday. Gold has been on the uptrend the last couple days now, but is still stuck in the $700 - $750 range for now. The top performing industry today is Silver. Silver is up $0.14 to $9.51. Thursday, November 13 3:20 PM: Gold is now working off of a double bottom in its chart. We believe today is the start of bullish times again for gold. Gold per ounce is up 35.90 to 757.90 today, that's almost a 5% gain for gold today. We expect to see Gold challenge $800 an ounce soon and then $900 as it corrects to the upside. A lot of gold stocks have been sold down on golds move down, but now it gold prices have a lot of reasons to move higher. Our gold stock pick from last week, IVN, is up $0.43 to $3.11 today or 16%+ and up 60%+ since our stock pick early last week! Wednesday, September 22 6:15 PM: Subscribers to our stock newsletter had another big day with a stock we discussed on Monday that jumped huge today! Tuesday, September 21 12:01 AM: ENG posted as our latest stock pick. 2:00 AM: STEM posted as our Stock of the Week. Thursday, September 16 8:40 PM: The stem cell stocks that we have begun following again moved big today. STEM closed up $0.06 to $1.02 or 6%+. GERN closed up $0.43 to $3.33 or 14%+. ASTM closed up $0.015 to $0.31 or 5%+. NBS closed up $0.19 to $1.15 or 21%+. We expect stem cell stocks to continue to move heading into the Presidential election on Tuesday, November 4th, less than three weeks away. Tuesday, September 14 9:25 AM: Overseas markets were up big again overnight keeping the momentum going. Bailout plans are being clarified and set in action providing a sense of relief. DOW, NASDAQ and S&P 500 futures are all higher heading into the open. We'll have an update on some stocks to watch today in a bit. We like a lot of the same stocks going into the open today as we did yesterday heading into the open. Watch SWSI, MCZ, ATVI, DRYS and JSDA. They all performed very well yesterday. 11:00 AM: We believe investors will start looking towards gold and silver stocks with inflation expected as a by-product of the bailout. Monday, September 13 5:30 AM: DOW, NASDAQ and S&P 500 futures are all significantly higher this morning. Last Friday closed on a bullish note and global markets continued the rebound with several stock markets up overseas. 9:20 AM: Stocks are severely oversold and many cheaper than they've been in many years. The market is expected to see a huge move today as a lot of money moves back into a lot of bargain stocks out there. SWSI - oil services company, severely oversold and could see a big rebound. MCZ - closed at $0.36 on Friday, half of its book value of $0.72. ATVI - down to pre-Blizzard merger announcement level. DRYS - down to $17.80 level after trading at $130+ this time last year. JSDA - Trading at a market cap of less than $20 million for a brand thats been around 21 years. Saturday, October 5 7:45 AM: MCZ posted as our Stock of the Week for this upcoming week! Friday, October 4 12:01 AM: RockingStocks.com newsletter experienced another big winner yesterday! We just released another play to newsletter subscribers that we expect to be big time! To see our new play and other important stock plays and alerts, make sure to subscribe to our stock newsletter. Thursday, October 2 5:30 AM: It looks like the bailout will be approved after a few changes were made to it. We expect gold per ounce to go much, much higher long-term due to the bailout and other factors. Some gold stocks to watch are VGZ, NXG, BVN, EGI and NEM. MCZ looks like an exciting play closing out 2008. It tends to move towards the end of each year as the holidays approach. MCZ moved up yesterday and closed at its higher of the day, confirming a reversal from the day before. CBOU is showing a possible reversal. The company is moving ahead under new management and will be hosting an introductory call with the investment community after the market close on Tuesday, October 7th. Tuesday, September 30 12:01 AM: One of the few bright spots in the market yesterday were a few individual biotech and biopharmaceutical stocks that received a lot of attention. DVAX moved late in the day after receiving a $17 million contract. ALTU moved late as well, up 28%+. ALTI - a nanotechnology company quietly moved up $0.34 to $2.54. ALTI is starting to receive a lot of attention and it has been performing nicely in September. They are starting to emerge as a pure play nanotech leader with a clean balance sheet. NXG, a gold and copper mining, producing company is consolidating at its current level, but looks like it could become a solid play. BPHX announced signing a multi-million dollar information technology (IT) modernization project with a large US financial institution. Thursday, October 9 8:40 AM: DOW, S&P 500 and NASDAQ Futures are all higher heading into the open. European central banks have expressed their willingness to prop up lending between banks with a combined $120 billion and the US is considering ownership in US banks. 9:00 AM: We are still holding our MCZ shares. We like its value right now, trading at $0.44, significantly below its book value of $0.72 based on shareholder equity from its 6/30/08 quarter. Yesterday's movement in MCZ shares looks like a possible reversal that could be confirmed today. 9:20 AM: The markets will be closed this Monday (10/13) for Columbus Day. 10:00 AM: Two search engines are top gainers on the NASDAQ today - LOCM and LOOK. FPP is rebounding today, up 20%+. Wednesday, September 24 4:40 PM: We had a monstrous winner today that was sent exclusively to newsletter subscribers yesterday. Take the time to join our our free opt-in stock newsletter. Tuesday, September 23 9:00 PM: CBOU posted as our latest stock pick. Friday, September 19 4:15 PM: Our stock pick from earlier this week, PRC, reached a high of $1.49 today, up for a total possible gain of 55%+ in two trading days from our pick price at $0.96. Thursday, September 18 12:20 AM: PRC posted as our latest stock pick. 5:30 PM: Banks, title insurance and mortgage investment companies were the big winners today. Their rebound brought the market up in a big way today with the NASDAQ up over 100 points and the DOW up over 400 points. Oil stocks started to rebound as well today after many of them overcorrected to the downside. It looks like crude oil may have found a bottom between $95 - $100. Our oil stock pick from around midnight last night - PRC - was up nicely today from our pick price of $0.96. FPP filled in its chart nicely as well today. Wednesday, September 17 3:50 PM: Gold is up huge today, up $80+ to over $860. We like UXG a lot right now. UXG appears undervalued and it has a lot of potential with Rob McEwen leading the company and their mining rights in Nevada and Mexico. Another gold stock to watch is NXG. Silver is also moving, SLW is a silver play to watch. Wednesday, September 10 1:30 PM: Take a look at ATVI moving today, up $0.69 to $17.31. The new stock began trading after a 2:1 split and effectively became Activision Blizzard. We expect ATVI to do well this fall. There's a lot of value in ATVI at its current price level. Monday, September 8 9:15 PM: PGTI posted as our latest stock pick. PGTI could be a potential hurricane play. Thursday, August 28 7:40 PM: Stock Updates posted. Tuesday, August 26 3:00 PM: Oil is up $1.32 to $116.43 and appears to have reached a bottom in its pattern. We believe oil could have another run in it by the end of the year. PDO has been putting together a solid uptrend since bottoming below $10. PDO is moving again today, up $0.92 to $14.05 and the stock looks ready to capitalize on an uptrend in crude oil. The momentum players know PDO well. Tuesday, August 19 2:25 PM: FSYS reached a new 52-week high today and is now near its high of the day, up $5.24 to $60.63. FSYS is now up 81% since our Stock Pick just over a month ago and since our Stock of the Week play. Wednesday, August 13 3:40 PM: It looks like a lot of investors were waiting for TVOC's earnings report. The stock is up $1.25 to $13.75 and has traded big volume the last few minutes. We believe word will spread about TVOC's earnings this evening. TVOC reported earnings of $883,416 or $0.62 per share for their most recent quarter. That is a pretty huge quarter accredited a lot to crude oil prices being high throughout the quarter. For the past six months, TVOC had earnings per share of $1.01. Extrapolate that annually and TVOC could have over $2.00 a share in earnings, while the stock is trading at less than $14.00. 3:30 PM: Earnings were just released on TVOC and it appears to be getting a lot of attention. 2:00 PM: We mentioned ANSW in a newsletter alert last night. ANSW has been in a solid uptrend. Its continuing the uptrend today, up $0.25 to $4.35, moving 6%+ higher. TYM should be reporting earnings soon. TYM moved big on its last earnings report from under $5.00 to reach $7.00. Uranium stocks are moving higher again - URRE is up 21%+ and URG is up 33%+ today. Both of these stocks were recent stock picks. Independent Oil & Gas stocks are moving again. Oil is up over $3.00 a barrel and huge earnings are expected out on many of these stocks. PDO is up 41%+, FPP is up 20%+, ROYL is up 14%+. Wednesday, August 13th: I'd watch MPET, it's been creeping back up slowly and broke through the last run's high. There has been mininal volume, so I'd just keep my eye on it. Tuesday, August 12 3:15 PM: Watch BPHX, it is moving strong today and looks like it has a chance at closing at its high of the day. If it can break through $5.20, it should have a great chance at filling its chart towards $6.00. 1:48 PM: FSYS, one of our past stock picks, continues to perform well. FSYS is up 7% today, so far. 10:15 AM: BVNI's short term technical indicators are turning around! On Barchart.com, both the 7 Day Average Directional Indicator and 10 - 8 Day Moving Average Hilo Channel have swung to "buy" conditions according to Barchart.com. Check out the BVNI chart. BVNI has bottomed and uptrended in a similar way in the past. BVNI's last three moves have been 240%+, 252% and 100%. We doubt there are many shares available at the ask at $0.22. Take a look at this flash presentation that illustrates the growth potential of BVNI. We believe Hotel.vn (BVNI's Vietnam travel site) is akin to Travelzoo (TZOO), except much earlier stage and focused on travel to and within Vietnam. Monday, August 11 3:10 PM: BVNI is up $0.07 to $0.22 and showing how fast it has the ability to move. We don't believe there are or will be many shares available at $0.22 before BVNI moves to its next, higher price level. 1:50 PM: CAR is rallying again today. CAR is up $0.53 to $7.96 and not far from crossing over its 50-day moving average at $8.41. We believe CAR could cross its 50-day moving average tomorrow. CAR is up 13%+ since our stock pick two trading days ago. 1:40 PM: Nasdaq is up 40 points so far today as oil prices drop below $114/barrel. 8:15 AM: BVNI posted as our Stock of the Week on the front page. Friday, August 8 2:00 PM: We'll be releasing a new stock this evening that we discovered. It appears to be setting up for a rewarding situation. 2:30 PM: FSYS is up over $9.00 today and has eclipsed the $50 mark! FSYS is up 22%! We had FSYS as our Stock of the Week during the week of 7/13/08 and released it as a Stock Pick at $33.39! FSYS has now had total possible gains of 58%+ since our stock pick just 20 days ago! 6:00 PM: Our new stock play to watch is BVNI. Look at where BVNI is in its chart right now. One reason BVNI is attractive is because it moves in waves. During its first move, BVNI moved 240%+. During its second move, BVNI moved 252%. During its third move, BVNI moved 100%. All three of these moves occurred in the last year. Right now, BVNI is at a bottom in its wavy pattern and based on its price movements in the past it could be ready for another 100%+ move. There's a reason BVNI trades in such a rewarding fashion. There are only 50.11 million shares outstanding and 30.0 million of those are held by management. Also, the majority of investors holding BVNI invested at higher levels and are expecting to see higher levels. In 2006, BVNI moved from under $0.25 to $1.50, so BVNI has the possibility of even larger upside surprises. We'll have more exciting info on BVNI later. We researched BVNI a lot. We're really excited about the prospect of big gains with this play. Thursday, August 7 NMKT Management to hold profitable forecast call today at 4:15pm. 5:25 PM: CAR posted as our latest stock pick. Wednesday, August 6 VRNM announced a huge partnership deal with BP to accelerate the commercialization of cellulosic ethanol! VRNM is out on several major publications today! In one of our emails about VRNM (7/22), we said, "Watch for VRNM to have a MONSTER short squeeze! VRNM's float is 24.11% short!" We'd be surprised if any of the float was short now, most of the shorts probably covered with the huge BP news! No one else we know of discovered VRNM like we did!!! We are working very hard to find more huge winners like VRNM!!! Here was our Stock of the Week feature on VRNM, that we sent out to Newsletter subscribers and had on the Front Page: Stock of the Week - Verenium (VRNM) Tuesday, August 5 2:15 PM: One of our more recent stock picks is beginning to move - TYM gapped higher today and is trading decent volume. TYM is up close to 5% so far today and has an attractive chart. The company appears undervalued and has a history of spiking huge. TYM is expected to report Q3 earnings around August 15th. Monday, August 4 1:10PM: Be sure to watch NMKT all this week. NMKT is riding high on some great financial news. They have a sales call scheduled for Thursday. 6:50 PM: URG posted as our latest stock pick. Sunday, August 3 7:45 PM: MAXY was just posted as our Stock of the Week. Make sure to tell everyone you can about MAXY and RockingStocks.com. MAXY is going to be huge this week!!!
Saturday, August 2 Here's a list of a few of our recent Stock of the Week's: VRNM - Our Stock of the Week (7/21) up a total possible gain of 32%+ in 10 trading days! FSYS - Our Stock of the Week (7/13) up a total possible gain of 27%+ in 8 trading days! XNL - Our Stock of the Week (7/6) up a total possible gain of 41%+ in 8 trading days! This is crazy... performance... We'll be releasing our new Stock of the Week on Sunday 8/3. Spread the word of RockingStocks.com's Huge Stock of the Week Winners! They will only get bigger! Friday, August 1 12:05 PM: Our MAXY stock play that we've been following closely is breaking out huge today. MAXY is now up $0.39 to $5.24, 8%+. The companies earnings call is scheduled for after the bell today. MAXY is breaking out as investors continue to discover how undervalued it is. We believe MAXY still has a lot of upside, we first discovered it at $4.48 about a month ago. 3:40 PM: MAXY is surging now, up $0.64 to $5.49, 13%+ and looks like it is going to close very strong. Wednesday, July 30 1:50 PM: FSYS is back on the move and it looks good for another new 52-week high above $42.42. 1:50 PM: The Nasdaq is down almost 14 points so far today. Market performance is being dictated heavily by oil prices. 1:51 PM: Watch MPET as it should get technical support at the 200 day and is in an oversold condition. This could be a good buying level. Tuesday, July 29 9:45 AM: The NASDAQ is rebounding today, up over 15 points right now. Our Stock of the Week from last week, VRNM, is up $0.08 to $1.97 so far today and up 18.6% since we first discovered it. VRNM wasn't a mover early last week, but heated up towards the end of the week. Wednesday, July 23 11:55 PM: Take a look at NTIC today. There was a news story out last night that the LA City Council voted to ban plastic shopping bags by July 2010. Last year, San Francisco became the first US city to ban plastic bags from its stores. We are in the beginning stages of a switch to bioplastic from plastic. Its no surprise NTIC is moving today on this news, its the right play for the situation shaping up. The stock is breaking out today and NTIC's 50-day moving average is just ahead. NTIC has a float of only 1.72 million shares. Tuesday, July 22 7:10 AM: VRNM was posted as our Stock of the Week late last night. Read about it on the front page. 12:45 PM: We believe VRNM is about to become a huge play. Its chart is building as expected today and VRNM is not far from breaking through its 50-day moving average at $2.04. 1:00 PM: Watch these stocks today - LOOK, STEM, GERN, NTGR. They've been moving higher and still appear beneath the radar. Oil stocks are going to be interesting to watch over the next three weeks with earnings reports nearing. Many oil companies should have record quarters, but oil prices are now dropping. If oil starts moving up around earnings again, it could make oil stocks very hot again. Its important to remember that investors are looking to the future. For now, we see oil taking a breather and correcting as its doing, down 4.58 to $126.46. 6:00 PM: Stock Updates posted. Our Stock of the Week from last week, FSYS, exploded higher today, up over $3.00. We believe VRNM (our Stock of the Week for this week) will break out huge at some point this week. Monday, July 21 7:45 AM: We will be announcing this week's Stock of the Week later today. Our last two Stock of the Week's (XNL and FSYS) have had total possible gains of 28.2% and 14.9% respectively in less than five trading days. 10:30 PM: VRNM is our Stock of the Week for this week! Read about VRNM on our Homepage! Our last two Stock of the Week's have been big winners in a short time! Friday, July 18 7:20 AM: It could pay to watch MAXY very closely today, if you have not already done so make sure to read our Stock Pick of MAXY. We picked MAXY at $4.48 before the July 4th holiday, its now at $4.91. We expect much more than this out of our Stock Picks. MAXY may just need a little more time. Its now July 18th and MAXY is just below its 50-day moving average of $4.95. We have called several breakouts, we believe MAXY will be another. With the Bayer deal, MAXY will soon be trading significantly under its cash value. MAXY has quietly moved higher the last three days. We don't believe MAXY will be quiet much longer. MAXY's float is about 10% short, we could see a short squeeze happen in the next few days! MAXY really should be trading much higher! Thursday, July 17 6:15 PM: TYM, DPDW and MAXY all finished up 3.00%+ today. Tuesday, July 15 3:30 PM: Our Stock of the Week is moving big today. FSYS is up $2.99 to $36.81. That's a close 9.00% move so far today. It started breaking out about an hour ago. FSYS has room to run higher from here with its 52-week high not too far out of reach at $41.89. Monday, July 14 3:15 PM: MPET is trying to put something together. Its experiencing some resistance, but if it can break out above $1.48, we could see it start trending higher again. 3:50 PM: Our Stock of the Week, FSYS, has turned into the green for the day. We believe we could see FSYS have a strong move tomorrow with this late momentum kicking in. Friday, July 11 2:50 PM: Oil is up $3.86 to $145.51 on concerns over supply and the Middle East. A lot of oil companies are going to have blow out earnings when they begin to report in early to mid-August. Tuesday, July 8 11:20 AM: XNL is up $0.04 to $0.49 today, up close to 9% today and up over 25% since we made it our Stock of the Week on Sunday evening. 12:55 PM: As we indicated last night in the Stock Updates, the NASDAQ was very near being oversold. It looks like the exchange has a real chance at rebounding from its current levels with oil dropping and technical indicators pointing to a correction to the upside. Monday, July 7 1:30 PM: Our Stock of the Week, XNL, is starting to move. XNL is up $0.03 to $0.42 or over 7.00%. Its chart is now shaping up very nicely. 3:55 PM: XNL is now up $0.06 to $0.45, that's a 15%+ one-day gain for our Stock of the Week on Day #1! We posted XNL as our Stock of the Week yesterday evening. XNL is one of the top gainers on the AMEX today. XNL is a somewhat well known stock and could gain a lot of momentum especially with the 50-day moving average and 200-day MA just ahead at $0.50 and $0.53 respectively. Thursday, July 3rd 1:50 PM: Oil reached a new record above $145 today. Our pharmaceutical play, MAXY is holding strong after its gap higher yesterday. When the serious money comes back on Monday, MAXY should get a lot of play. Undervalued oil stocks looks good with oil staying high throughout the quarter so far. Even if it drops to $130, that's still high. Producing oil companies should have blowout quarters. Our favorite stock in the Independent Oil & Gas industry is still TVOC. The company has only two employees and they are extremely lean. It doesn't look like theres a more undervalued oil & gas opportunity out there, at least we haven't found it yet. Accumulation in TVOC has been increasing since late-May. It has two spikes of 24%+. Its chart is very interesting. It should be at a bottom around its current price. Wednesday, July 2nd 4:20 PM: We'll be releasing a new stock pick tonight! You won't believe your eyes on this one! 7:00 PM: MAXY posted as our new stock pick! Tuesday, July 1st 1:35 PM: Yesterday's session might be the most daily volume we see for the NASDAQ this week. The markets will close early on Thursday at 1:00 PM ET. MPET is moving slightly higher today. It could be close to starting a new leg higher. Monday, June 30th 7:40 PM: NTIC posted as our latest stock pick. 7:50 PM: Stock Updates posted. Tuesday, June 24th 1:49pm: Stock Updates posted. Monday, June 30th 7:40 PM: NTIC posted as our latest stock pick. 7:50 PM: Stock Updates posted. Tuesday, June 24th 1:49pm: Stock Updates posted. |
